RIMS 2024 Recap – LineSlip visits Sunny San Diego
This year’s RIMS was especially exciting for several reasons. For one, it was my first time at RIMS. Not only that, it was my first work trip since before the pandemic (I’ve been living under a rock, apparently). Finally, our team saw it as an opportunity to get some rare face time, connect with our customers, and meet new folks in the industry.
LineSlip has participated in RIMS for the past 3 years and each one has been better than the last. We all had very high expectations for the show. Read on to see if they were exceeded!
The Happy Hour
I landed in San Diego after a short flight from the SF Bay Area. The first thing on my schedule? LineSlip’s happy hour. Great way to get started with a new experience.
We hosted the event at a local pizzeria/gastropub called Basic Pizza. It was just steps from Petco Park and the casual atmosphere was perfect for connecting with new people. We had a great turnout (well over our originally planned capacity), but Basic was large enough that no one had to be turned away.
I wouldn’t be a good marketer if I didn’t take tons of photos to share at an event like this. Check out the gallery below if you attended. I bet you’ll see yourself!
First Impressions and Booth Setup
Despite living near the convention center a few years ago, I’ve never been inside! My first impressions upon arrival were that everything seemed very well laid out. Booths were well designed, the spacing between manageable for small crowds, and there was a massive amount of swag.
Our booth was set up well, but the tables that should have been delivered were nowhere to be found. Fortunately, the venue had rentals available. It's a good thing they did because our booth was very busy. We needed space for people to congregate!
The Marketplace Opens
Monday, 9:30am: the floodgates opened…
Ok, ok, it didn’t look like a stampede for any vendor, but it was go time! Interest in our booth was consistent throughout each day of the conference. Our team impressed me (and booth visitors) with their exceptional depth of knowledge about the intricacies of our product and the insurance world.
Shout out to Dylan Lomax, Bobby Pesavento, Michael Harkins, Pat Mack, and Jeff Sharer for their commitment to our customers and prospects that visited us at RIMS!
What did the rest of the team think?
“RIMS served as a powerful reminder that LineSlip Risk Manager is the only tech solution for risk executives who want a strategic solution to report, manage and understand their complex commercial insurance programs.” -Leo Bernstein
"Networking at RIMS is about forging genuine connections that pave the way for mutual growth. It’s a fantastic place to meet face-to-face with our broker clients and discuss how we can better support their evolving needs. Each conversation here is a potential game-changer for our clients." -Bobby Pesavento
"The RIMS conference exceeded all expectations once again. Connecting with clients, exploring potential partnerships, gaining insights into industry trends, and bonding with the team, all compressed into a few days, proved to be an invaluable experience. Kudos to RIMS, fellow exhibitors, and attendees for contributing to yet another resoundingly successful event!” -Dylan Lomax
“It is invigorating to see the InsurTech space continue to grow, with the representation of new vendors and enhancements amongst the rest of our peer group. Already looking forward to RiskWorld Chicago in 2025!” -Michael Harkins
Reflections and Future Outlook
RIMS was a wonderful experience personally and for the future of LineSlip. As technology continues to permeate the insurance industry, insurance professionals are going to need to keep up any way they can. Meeting in person, sharing a demo, and chatting about pain points will always be key in the insurance business. For LineSlip, RIMS was the perfect blend of all three.
See you next year in Chicago!
